I’ve hated Hawaiian shirts since the days of Mr. von der Lippe. Even the charming Magnum in his Ferrari couldn’t convince me otherwise. Fortunately, those days are long behind us and I hoped everything was over.
I’ve always been interested in making men more beautiful. And then suddenly came the shock: a new collar shape was propagated under the name “resort collar”, which looked exactly as it did in Magnum’s day – turned up like a pyjama shirt. As I have made it my mission not necessarily to follow trends, but to interpret them, I had a new challenge.
We gave the shirt a zipper and reshaped the collar in such a way that we were able to dispense with the split and therefore the spread in the middle. The result is a curved shape without a bridge that allows for several wearing options. Fully folded over as a casual resort collar, raised at the back and folded over at the front as a cool Italian collar or fully raised as a masculine stand-up collar. And then we tried a new styling: we put a plain BW turtleneck under the shirt with the resort collar and perfected the look by tucking everything into a pair of high-waist leather trousers. Wearing shirts tucked into trousers is on the rise again. Some men prove that can look pretty good.
